• To connect a new FI account, you have to complete the "Universal FI account ("POPOTE") Opening Form". Your Mini- or Super-MobiKash Agent will help you to complete the form.

With a POPOTE account you can deposit, withdraw money, sign in for Alerts/Reminders, Check or view balances and transactions directly from your Bank or MFI or SACCO account

• At MobiKash-Street-seller, you can buy MobiKash scratch cards at different nominations

The Agent will make a request to your desired Bank and your Account number will be delivered directly to your phone

Select the source account, enter the 6-digit agent code of the agent you like to do cash out with. Enter the KSh amount you like to cash out, confirm the transaction by entering your PIN. You have now successfully transferred money to your agent. The agent will hand out the exact amount in cash. You will receive your current MobiKash balance and a Reference Number via SMS.

 

Enter the MobiKash main menu. Press Answer; Enter '5' to enter your "My Account" settings; Press Send to confirm. Select 'Bank accounts' as service. Press Answer; Press '6' to enter your connected bank accounts settings; Press Send to confirm. Then select 'Connect bank account' to connect an existing FI account from you to the MobiKash mobile account. Enter the FI institution code of the account you like to connect. Enter the 10 to14-digit FI account number of the account you like to connect. Select the type of photo ID you provided when you registered your account. Enter the according ID number of your ID. You have now successfully connected your FI account to your Mobile account.

Yes. With a MobiKash mobile wallet, you can manage all your transactions and features of the mobile account and of all other connected FI accounts. You just have to be a MobiKash user  and you have to connect your existing (FI) account to the MobiKash system. To connect an existing FI account, just enter your MobiKash main menu/My account services and connect the account.

 

MobiKash works with any phone and on any network, anytime and anywhere. With the simple USSD command dial *167# and start using MobiKash.

 

The registered MobiKash customer can send money to an unregistered customer by entering the mobile phone number of the recipient. The recipient will automatically become a registered customer when receiving the money.

 

In case of a wrong transfer, contact the MobiKash call center  immediately for assistance with all the details of the transaction.

No, a copy of your passport for ID is not sufficient. You have to show an original of an ID (National ID, Military ID or Passport) - for verification only- one copy.

The MobiKash PIN and the passphrase are security features of MobiKash. You will need the PIN always to confirm transactions. The passphrase helps the customer service to help you when you have difficulties with the system.

These two security features are generated by and stored in the System. In addition, you have FI accounts linked to your MobiKash SVA are provided with one additional PIN per each FI. This FI PIN is required in order to perform certain types of transactions. Entering a PIN is required in a lot of different scenarios. When performing transactions, the System asks you to provide either the MobiKash or the FI PIN.

 

You have to go to an Agent authorized to support customers using the computer. The purpose of the passphrase is to authenticate yourself to customer support personnel, e.g. you forgot your PIN and needs customer support to reset it.

 

At  the moment it is just available in Kenya but there a plans to expand it to the other Eastern African countries as well as Central Africa countries.
